Welcome to my new series…(drum roll)… French Fridays!
A few years back I had the privilege to go to Paris for two weeks with my husband. He was going for work so I had every weekday to myself until his workday was finished.
I was looking through all the photos again, remembering all the good times and I decided to share this wonderful adventure with you.
My preparation for this trip included a handy little tourist guide to Paris. I worked out my days ahead of time, divided the city into different blocks and made lists of all the places I wanted to see.
Being an adventurer, my husband gave me one thing… a compass! I couldn’t really understand why, but once we arrived he quickly showed me his trick.
If you get out of a metro station and don’t know which way to go:
- find North on the compass,
- point the map towards North,
- find your current position on the map (I checked the station I exited) and
Although technology makes things easier, my best travelling tip would be to always have a compass and map when travelling. It is difficult (not impossible) to get lost with a map and compass.
In this series you will experience Paris from my eyes. Join me next Friday for my first day in Paris… the good, the bad and the photos.
You can read all about our arrival in Paris, my first exploration of Paris on foot, museum hunting, more museums and a quick trip to Montmarte. Join me also as I went up the Eiffel Tower with my family and experience Paris from the Notre Dame.
