I was looking forward to the new year, a new beginning with new challenges and joys… and then life happened. Before I continue I have to admit it was not big life-threatening challenges, but the emotional ones, making you wonder if you are good enough, if you should continue this adventure you undertook. My dear child
I created the heavens and earth. I sent My Word and it was done. I put Adam and Eve on it to have a relationship with me. Throughout the years my people has come to me, and turned away. They repented and turned away again… so many times have I forgiven them. I sent My Son to pay the prize and it was done. Jesus paid the ultimate prize because I love you.
Even before I created the earth I designed you. I planned every part of you; I planned you to be unique.
I rejoice over you and want to spend time with you. I know you don’t always know what to do or say, but I want you to rest in Me. I want to be part of your life; I want to be part of every part of your life. I want to greet you when you wake up and I want to put you to bed. I want to help you in your challenges and I want to rejoice with you over victories. I want to hold you when you are alone and give you strength when you are weak.
When my baby was born a year ago, I wanted to make him a “space capsule”, adding some things from his birth day (like a newspaper, some technology that will be long outdated by the time he is 18 and a letter for him). As it turned out we didn’t buy a newspaper (I am saving a magazine from that month) and I never wrote the letter. The idea was to keep it save and give it to him on his eighteenth birthday. I never found time to write the letter before his birth and decided to do it today, one year later.
Here it is:
My dearest son
I believe all children are miracles and experienced it first-hand when we see you grew and developed inside me. Week by week we read what was forming and for the first time I understood what David meant in Psalm 139, talking about God knitting us together in our mothers’ womb.
