We recently went to the mountains for a week for a long-deserved rest. We went with family and one might ask how much rest did you anticipate with my 18 month old toddler and his 6 and 9 year old cousins.
The chalets had different views, ours overlooked a mountain and the rest over the valley and mountains in the far distance.
I spent a lot of time looking out over the mountain; I saw the mountaintop covered in mist early in the mornings, ever-changing clouds changed the scenery throughout the day, I saw trees dancing as the wind rustled through the leaves, the moon lightened up the silent, dark night and the stars were shining brightly… I heard the words of Psalm 8 so often in my mind as I looked at the mountain: “O Lord our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!”.
As we arrived I told my father-in-law my soul yearns for the quietness of the mountains. Somewhere between 3 busy boys fishing, playing, horse-riding, kite flying, wall-climbing I found it: peace and rest in the mountains as I witnessed the greatness of God’s glory.
Judging from the photo’s, it looks like you and your family had a wonderful time! Nothing like nature to clear you head.
That is so true. Thank you for taking the time to comment.
