My uncle passed away and we wanted to go to the funeral. So we packed our little blue car and off we went. We arrived nine hours later, tired but excited to see the sea. We went to a small beach with friends and joined them for dinner.
The funeral was a celebration of my uncle’s life. I will remember him for his gentleness and smile; and for all the stories he could tell. I will miss him.
Afterwards we spent time with the family. It was fun to see all the children playing, the adults sharing stories and everyone together.
The next day we drove nine hours back home. The road was long, but the trip was worth it.
It is a pity that life gets so busy that we don’t have time to get together more often during the year, that it swallows us up to release us again in December, just to take a breath before the next year starts.
