DAY 14 Saturday
Bastille day… and my last day in Paris!! We woke up early to see everything that we still wanted to see. We started taking pictures of the little church that we missed previously. It was still beautiful. A man thanked me sincerely after I gave him my last money.
Pere Lachaise graveyard
Next stop was Pere Lachaise graveyard. The graves looked like little houses! We looked at the graves of Jim Morisson, Frederic Chopin and many more. Some of the graves have colored windows, pictures and statues, and some many op top of each other.
A little more exploring
Then we looked for the market in the Latin Quarter but couldn’t find it, so we walked around taking photos, visited a little park and watched children playing.
The Bastille building and Opera house were our next stop. We walked around the circle and then went to Place Véndome. I didn’t knew what is was or why, but it was on one of the postcards I bought so we had to see it as well.
Eiffel Tower and fireworks
On our way to the Eiffel Tower we had a quick stop at a supermarket to buy some food. The stations around the Eiffel Tower was closed so we had to walk very far. There were many people and we couldn’t find a place in front of the Eiffel Tower. We found a spot on the grass and we could only see the Eiffel Tower from the second floor upwards.
There was a french singer and after that a famous one that we could understand. We enjoyed the show but when the fireworks started we couldn’t see everything clearly.
Everyone moved around to see better so we ran to the other side of the Eiffel Tower. We ended up at the Seine river with a beautiful view and enjoyed the last ten minutes of the fireworks. I will never forget that moment and we took a lot of photos.
After the fireworks we walked to Charles de Gaulle metro station at the Arc de Triomphe to get on the red line to go back to the hotel. French flags were hanging everywhere in the Champs Elysées and the Arc de Triomphe. We were very tired, but had an awesome day.
