French Fridays – Museum hunting

DAY 3 – Tuesday

I woke up during the night with a sore throat. I struggled to wake up and my day started a bit later than usual, but I decided to do some museum hunting.

Musée Rodin

I went to Musée Rodin. Although it is a small museum I was glad I took the time to visit it. The Thinker and Gates of Hell in the garden were magnificent.

DAY 2 – Monday

Getting a Museum card

My husband left early for work, so that was my first day alone on the metro. Finding the station without any problem I took my seat and watched the other people. Most of them sat with a blank face, but there was a young couple talking excitedly.

My first stop was at the Arc de Triomphe for a museum card. Still a bit afraid of the metro I walked where I wanted to go.

The day I almost fell of a horse

Horse-riding

We went to the mountains and one of the many activities we did was horse-riding.

Every time I get on a horse I see myself as a beginner, trying to get as many tips from the guide as possible. On that specific day the only instructions I remembered were “hold on” and “put your feet in here”. Continue reading The day I almost fell of a horse

French Fridays – Arrival in Paris

DAY 1 – Sunday

The airplaneArrival in Paris. French Fridays

I don’t like flying. So it is safe to say even though I was very excited about our planned holiday I was very afraid of getting there. In retrospect there was nothing to complain about and I actually had a good night’s rest on the plane.

We landed on a Sunday morning and got a taxi to take us to the hotel. The hotel where we stayed is located just outside Paris. Continue reading French Fridays – Arrival in Paris

Finding rest

We recently went to the mountains for a week for a long-deserved rest. We went with family and one might ask how much rest did you anticipate with my 18 month old toddler and his 6 and 9 year old cousins.
Finding rest... sunset over mountain

The chalets had different views, ours overlooked a mountain and the rest over the valley and mountains in the far distance.

Welcome to my new series…(drum roll)… French Fridays!

A few years back I had the privilege to go to Paris for two weeks with my husband.  He was going for work so I had every weekday to myself until his workday was finished.

I was looking through all the photos again, remembering all the good times and I decided to share this wonderful adventure with you. Continue reading Welcome to French Fridays
