October is one of the most beautiful months and went by very quickly.
We experienced some things for the first time in October in our everyday life. We took our baby on his first vacation, he had his first haircut and went to his first swimming lesson.
I had my first time-out and attended a mommy-morning.
I decided to give some more information about my husband. You can read more about it here.

My dear child
This is my first letter to you. There will be many others to follow this one.
I created the heavens and earth. I sent My Word and it was done. I put Adam and Eve on it to have a relationship with me. Throughout the years my people has come to me, and turned away. They repented and turned away again… so many times have I forgiven them. I sent My Son to pay the prize and it was done. Jesus paid the ultimate prize because I love you.
Even before I created the earth I designed you. I planned every part of you; I planned you to be unique.
I rejoice over you and want to spend time with you. I know you don’t always know what to do or say, but I want you to rest in Me. I want to be part of your life; I want to be part of every part of your life. I want to greet you when you wake up and I want to put you to bed. I want to help you in your challenges and I want to rejoice with you over victories. I want to hold you when you are alone and give you strength when you are weak.

What is time out?
When you have children, the first meaning that comes to your mind might be “A brief period of time during which a misbehaving child is put on their own so that they can regain control over their emotions” (Oxford Dictionary).
For sport fanatics it can be “A brief break in play in a game or sport”.
When working on an old computer with slow internet you might think about “A cancellation or cessation that automatically occurs when a predefined interval of time has passed without a certain event occurring.”
All of these definitions can be found in the Oxford Dictionary. The time out I want to talk about is the following one: “Time for rest or recreation away from one’s usual work or studies”.

I have to start by saying I can’t believe we are already in October. Where has the year gone?
I remember January. February as well because my baby started going to nursery school. Somewhere in June or July we had one week winter (I enjoy the winter, but somehow it just gets shorter and shorter). In September my baby turned one, and now we are halfway through October.

I have read much books and watch many different dvd’s on the difference between men and women… mom vs dad. One of my favorites is “Laugh your way to a better marriage” by Mark Gungor. The series starts with “A tale of two brains”, and it is so funny. A book I enjoyed a lot is “Men are like waffles women are like spaghetti”, by Bill and Pam Farrel.
I definitely don’t know everything about my husband, but I thought I understood his thinking pattern after pre-marriage counselling, personality tests and all this dvd’s and books. If you read “My husband, the entertainer” you might understand a bit about the personality gap between us.

The thought of going on vacation with a one year old baby is terrifying (for me at least). I like travelling, but I also enjoy the comfort of my own home. Continue reading My baby’s first vacation
